In service since 2017
Bespoke information systems.
From Terceira, in the Azores, we design, build, integrate and maintain information systems for public and private organisations, and keep them working together long after go-live.
- Regional public administration
- Health, employment and finance
- Database
- ERP
- Document management
- Calendar
- Email and M365
- CRM
What we do
One team for the whole life of a system.
From the first analysis to everyday operation, for one stage of a project or all of them.
-
Consulting
Process and requirements analysis, architecture and support for tender specifications.
-
Bespoke development
Web platforms and back offices designed around the way your teams work.
-
Deployment and integration
Systems that work together: integrations, APIs, data migration and go-live.
-
Maintenance and support
Corrective and evolutionary maintenance, security updates and monitoring.
-
Artificial intelligence New
Assistants and automation connected to the systems you already run, with human approval.
-
Cybersecurity New
Source code audits, penetration testing and fixes, with a retest included.
Our work
Public systems that reach everyone who lives in the Azores.
We design, build and maintain platforms that regional public services depend on: digital identity, health reimbursements, employment support and cancer screening. Every project was awarded as a public contract.
245,328
people live in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. The public platforms we work on serve all of them.

Secretaria Regional das Finanças, Planeamento e Administração Pública
Azor.ID, the official digital identity of the Regional Government of the Azores
Impact
With a single registration, citizens and organisations access the Regional Public Administration's digital services securely. Its representation feature lets a relative or trusted person use services on behalf of someone who cannot do so alone, supporting digital inclusion.
-
Direção Regional da Saúde
Reimbursement Management System
Impact
Regional Health Service users claim back the health expenses they have paid, and this is the platform where each claim is handled and paid, at health units across the region.
Our role
We built it after a public tender in 2018 and have maintained and evolved it ever since.
-
Direção Regional de Qualificação Profissional e Emprego
Employment, certification and training platforms
Impact
They support the programmes that help create and keep jobs, certify organisations and train people already in work across the region.
Our role
We maintain and evolve the administrative management platforms for these programmes.
-
Fundo Regional do Emprego
New payments platform
Impact
It will handle the administrative management and processing of the Fundo Regional do Emprego's payments.
Our role
We are developing the new platform.
-
Centro de Oncologia dos Açores
Cancer screening management platforms
Impact
They support the administration of the region's cancer screening programmes, which help detect the disease earlier.
Our role
We provide corrective and adaptive maintenance of the platforms as part of the Hospital Digital project. In 2025 we adapted them to integrate an artificial intelligence algorithm.
The challenge
When information lives in ten systems, teams spend their day moving it between them.
Applications in email, cases in document management, patients in the booking system, invoices in the ERP. Every simple question means opening several applications and copying data. Our work is connecting them, so that information entered once is available wherever it is needed.
How we work
Close to the people who use the system, from start to finish.
We start by understanding the processes and the people who use them. The team that builds your system is the team that supports it afterwards.
-
Analysis
Processes, rules, users and existing systems mapped with the teams involved.
-
Design
Architecture, integrations, data and interfaces defined and validated before development.
-
Development
Short iterations with regular demonstrations and feedback from real users.
-
Deployment
Data migration, training, documentation and support at go-live.
-
Support
Maintenance, security updates and new features as needs change.

Apiary: the front door to your systems, without a single point of failure
Datapoint has released Apiary, a free, open-source reverse proxy for Docker Swarm. It sends traffic to the right service, renews HTTPS certificates by itself and keeps running when a server fails, with no extra database to look after.

One application, three doors: systems ready for people, automation and AI assistants
Datapoint has released Datapoint.Mediator, an open-source library that lets you write a system's rules once and offer them through three doors: the API, the command line and MCP, used by AI assistants. We explain why this matters, even if you are not technical.

NIS2: what changes for public bodies and their software suppliers
Portugal's new Legal Framework for Cybersecurity, in force since April 2026, covers most of the public administration. We explain who is covered, the deadlines for reporting incidents, the fines and why software suppliers are now part of every organisation's obligations.
Frequently asked questions
About Datapoint.
What does Datapoint do?
Datapoint designs, builds, integrates and maintains bespoke information systems for public and private organisations: consulting, development, deployment, maintenance and support. Artificial intelligence integration is a newer line of work, built on top of the systems organisations already run.
Where is Datapoint based?
In Agualva, on Terceira island, in the Azores (Portugal). The company is Datapoint — Sistemas de Informação, Lda.
Does Datapoint work with public bodies?
Yes. Most of our work is for regional public administration in the Azores, in health, employment and finance. Services are procured under the Public Contracts Code, and our contracts can be consulted on the BASE portal (in Portuguese).
